Base Oils
Description
Base Oils are the key and bulk ingredients for all modern lubricant solutions, they act as the carriers for key performance additives and contribute to increasing the oxidation stability and blend miscibility for the final blend. Our range of base oils include Group I, Group II and Group III in varying viscosity grades v.i.z IS VG 12, 32, 100, 150 and 500.
i. Group I Base Oils:
These are solvent refined base stocks, derived from relatively simpler refining processes, making them suitable for manufacturing entry level products and formulations like hydraulic oils.
ii. Group II Base Oils:
There are hydrotreated base stocks with lesser percentage of sulfur and a higher viscosity index between 80 to 120, have a clearer color and are suitable for higher performance grades like automotive engine oils.
iii. Group III Base Oils:
These oils are further refined than Group II base oils and have a viscosity index higher than 120, they are refined with a process called hydrocracking and are also called as synthesized hydrocarbon base oils. They are used in cutting edge and modern engine oils where higher performance and extended oil life are required.
iv. Group IV Base Oils:
These are high performance base oils made from synthesization of polymers to provide superior performance in critical applications that are exposed to extremely cold and high heat applications.
